What's in the Window this Week!

Totem print blouse $92
DISH Annge skirt in Savona $78

A denim pencil skirt is the perfect hybrid of slick, high-powered fashion and cool, effortless dressing. Plus it's a great way to wear denim to the office!

Nougat strapless dress in Sweet Pea $245
Cureous Designs heart locket $32

The construction of this dress is impeccable. The bra is lined with a thin strip of rubber, to prevent any slippage, and it also comes with removable straps for those who don't want to commit to a strapless for the night.

Girl Friday Kelsey Dress b/w print $130
ZAD silver cuff $20 (also in gold)
ZAD leaf necklace $15 (also in gold)

The Kelsey dress gives instant shape to the body. The sweetheart neckline combined with the tulip skirt gives a girl dangerous curves, while maintaining an air of sweetness and innocence. Perfect for dates or events when you need to look your hottest (high school re-union anyone?)

Designer Spotlight: Hobo International

Hobo: Confident styling. Modern sensibility. Real life.

We are very excited about our lovely new Spring Hobo wallets and clutches. Hobo is a great wallet and handbag line from New York, designed by women, with special attention given to how you will use them day-to-day.

Each piece is made from soft, buttery Italian leather and is built to last. The quality is impeccable and the details make it special, with cool zippers, a multitude of pockets, and very cute printed linings.

The Spring styles are chic, interesting, extremely practical, and come in three gorgeous new colours—coral, turquoise and fog (a pale grey-cream). We also have several styles in classic black and maple brown, but we think the pretty spring colours are some of the best we’ve seen. These wallets make amazing gifts, but be forewarned... you might keep one for yourself! All are priced $68-$125.

Come check them out!

Get Inspired: Fashion from Across the Pond!

Brits are well-known for their trendsetting abilities and unique fashions. Rebecca recently returned from a quick jaunt to London and hit Canadian soil full of British style inspiration. Here are some of her favourite trends from the streets. You’ll look cracking in these London-inspired pieces, available now at the College & Queen Street locations.

Floral: both pretty & sweet floral, and big & funky prints were all over London

Distressed: great distressed denim for under $100 each

Embellished: sequins, silver thread detail, appliqué, bejewelled, glitz & glam...you get the picture.

Chambray: 100% Cotton, lightweight denim. The casual nature of the fabric (shown here in cool denim blue) makes the dressier cuts of these pieces work for day or night.

Military: tough, shoulders, buttons & brass, structure. Bring out your inner G.I. Jane

The key to these trends is how to wear them. Mix military, distressed denim or chambray with floral to add a little edge and to cut the sweetness.

Cheerio!

Our Favourite Jeans!

Every girl needs a favourite pair of jeans! You know the ones-- the jeans that fit your bum perfectly, make you feel skinny when you are having a fat day, and you can throw them on with any top to create an instant outfit. We asked some of the Girl Friday staffers what dish pair they call favourite, and why.
Don't forget, Thursday, April 8th is DISH night! 15% off Dish denim from 5-8pm!Kelsey is wearing Dish Jeggings in Indigo $74 (also in black)
Kersh banana cream v-neck $29
Biko donkey necklace $52

The Denim Leggings (jeggings) from Dish are my absolute favourite. I wear them at least 3 times a week. No joke. They are the most comfortable jeans I own, and they work with any outfit. They are a lightweight fabric, perfect for spring, and the ankle is narrow enough to fit in any boot I own, but also not too narrow, so I'm still able to wear flats with them!

Abby is wearing Trixie Diamond $94
Kersh white tee $15
Biko charm necklace $69
Rocketdog clover flats in natural $45 (also in black)

I love my Trixie’s in the diamond wash. They are seriously comfortable, look cute and even though they’ve stretched out a bit, still fit really well. I like that the slim bootcut is snug enough to wear with boots, flats or heels, but they’re not as strong of a look as a skinny jean. They really are the jeans I grab when I don’t know what to wear.

Danielle is wearing Stevie Tivoli $98
Dish vest in Ink $68
Rocketdog clover flats in natural $45 (also in black)

You know when you wake up in the morning and the last thing you want to do is put on a pair of jeans? I don't feel like that anymore... I've finally found my perfect pair of jeans. The Stevie's have a super thick waistband and exaggerated back pockets which make these jeans not only comfortable, but extremely flattering. The best part about these jeans, is that you can go up a size for that boyfriend look, or down a size (as I have) for that fitted trendy look. I pair mine with heels and a blazer, a cute cardigan and hunter rain boots, or with flats and a tank. They are so versatile, which is why they were my must have for spring!

Yoga jeans in Blue-Black wash $110 (also in overdye black)
Biko Magic charm necklace $79

I feel like this blouse is a hybrid of the intricate lace of the 1880's and the over-sized shapes of the 1980's! Decades separated by a century, brought together in the most beautiful way. Stunning!

Girl Friday York dress in white $200 (also in black)
