Meet the Girls: Rachel

Originally from Montreal, Rachel grew up in Burlington Ontario. She graduated from the MultiMedia Design & Production program at Fanshawe College! After graduating, Rachel travelled around Canada and recently settled in Toronto to pursue her Graphic Design Career. Next time you're in the store, welcome Rachel to our Girl Friday team! She might just be the nicest, most relaxed person you will ever meet!

Describe your Style: Depends on my mood. Mostly casual beach-y with a little edge.

Favourite Girl Friday piece: The new Kensie Leopard dress! -Super cute with tights and boots for fall. Also the Numph velvet dress that I'm wearing in the photo!

How do you spend your time: I'm a huge fan of group dinners, so definitely laughing with my friends with some drinks of course! I love movie nights with Jiffy pop, games nights (I'm a scrabble champ!). On a nice day I love to go shopping, checking out music in the city or just drawing in my sketch book!

Favourite Food: Sushi!

Favourite thing about Toronto: It's impossible to be bored in this city! There's almost too much to do! There is literally something for everyone, and I love that!

What's in the Window

Girl Friday Loretta dress Grape Satin $130
Margit Brandt black scarf (other colours available) $30
OA key necklace $20

Stunning colour! The Loretta is a classic cut that flatters by accenting the waistline and creating a smaller waist with an A-line skirt. It comes in black for those of us who are more modest, but if you want to turn heads at your holiday party, go bold in Grape!

Fever London dress $128
C'est Moi black belt $35
C'est moi studded clutch $38
CPAK leather bracelet $40

For those who have found Fever London, you know their dresses are a perfect combination of cut and colour with a price tag that won't break your bank. This gorgeous red offering from the UK brand works great alone with boots and tights, or belted for a night on the town.

Soia & Kyo Suzy down jacket $250
V. Fraas plaid scarf $26
DISH Paris Savona $96

It's actually here. We knew it was coming. The air is crisp and definitively chilly. The best protection from the bite of winter is a Soia & Kyo down coat. Down is nature's insulator, and when it comes to staying warm, I'll go take Mother Nature's advice!

Meet the Girls: Chanel

Most of our customers know Tessa & Kelsey by now. You've seen us in the stores and on the blogs, but there are a few new faces you might not know yet. We'd like to formally introduce you to our new generation of Girl Friday girls!

Chanel is a work-study student, who is working with us for the fall semester. Hailing from Scarborough, Chanel has dreams of one day opening her own store inspired by Japanese fashion. Chanel hopes to start her first year at Ryerson's Fashion Design program in September 2011.

How would you describe your style: Crazy! All over the place and unique. One day I'll wear a cray pink harajuku dress drowned in over-sized jewelery; then the next day I 'll rock a formal blazer, some skinnies and gothic combat boots.

What is your favourite piece in the store: There's so many awesome pieces, but right now I'm torn between the Girl Friday "Miller" dress- which is perfect for the season, and the Charlotte Tarantola grey & white cardigan. (both have sequins which I love!)

How do you spend your free time: I love shopping in Kensington Market, so many unique finds in such a small area. I also love to shop on Ebay and Etsy. I spend massive amounts of time looking through the pages on my computer.

What's your favourite food: Way too many! I love food! Lasagna is amazing, and PHO! Oh, and Chili, oh boy! Cheesecake is also a huge weakness of mine!

What's your favourite part of Toronto: I love everything about Toronto. There's so much diversity and interesting events and people! It wasn't until recently that I realised how amazing Queen St West was, how cool Yorkville is and how many hot guys there are in Koreatown!
